Remember Nate and Kat from their album cover sessions here and here? We last shot together in May of 2012. On that very night, he and Kat received a call to foster a newborn baby from Detroit. We literally wrapped the photo session (which was in Detroit) and drove together to pick up the baby. Since I had all my camera gear on me, I photographed the moment for them. I had a feeling they would be adopting this little girl. Fast forward about a year and a half later, and not only did they adopt the baby girl, they also finally became pregnant and had one of their own! In what seemed like overnight, their little family of two grew to four. They have given their children the most beautiful names: Rhema for the little girl which means “the word of the Lord endures forever” and Elijah for the little boy, named after the old testament prophet and which means “my God is Yahweh.” Nate and Kat: What a ride it’s been. I’m so, so happy for you both! It’s been a joy and an honor being a part of your lives these past few years. Your children are gorgeous and I look forward to seeing them grow in the years to come!
